Ultramarathon for Wishes
On 6th September 2025, Luke Sugden took on the challenge of a lifetime: running a 50-mile ultramarathon in Snowdonia as part of the GB Ultras.
Luke not only crossed the finish line but also surpassed his fundraising goal — raising £1,605 (107% of his £1,500 target) for Purple Heart Wishes.
His determination and generosity will help us grant more wishes for adults living with terminal illness, creating unforgettable memories for families when they’re needed most.

RunCancerRun – 15 Marathons in 15 Days
In July 2025, two incredible young men, Milo Young and Gabriel Maddison, ran the length of England — 630 km in just 15 days — to raise money for Purple Heart Wishes. That’s 15 marathons in 15 days.
It was a challenge fuelled by love and loss. Milo ran in memory of his mum, Natalie, who he lost to colon cancer in 2024. Gabriel ran in tribute to his grandfather and uncle, both taken too soon by cancer. Together, they turned grief into purpose.
They carried their own gear, faced brutal terrain, and pushed through exhaustion — all while raising over £11,000 to help grant wishes for adults with terminal illness.
Coast-to-Coast Run for Wishes
In 2022, Pete Gough took on the legendary Coast-to-Coast route — running from St. Bees to Robin Hood’s Bay to raise money for Purple Heart Wishes. Joined by his friend Liam, the pair spent 10 tough days crossing fells, valleys, and rugged trails.
It was more than just a long-distance run. Pete had dreamed of this challenge for years, and dedicating it to Purple Heart Wishes gave every mile deeper meaning. Step by step, they were running to help grant wishes for adults facing terminal illness.
By the finish line, they’d raised enough to fund five wishes — turning endurance and determination into joy, comfort, and lasting memories.

Decide your target and set up an online fundraising page (we’ll share recommended platforms and wording).
Grab your toolkit
We’ll provide logos, posters, social captions, donation QR, and a simple “how to” checklist.
Promote your event
Share your story, tag us on socials, ask your workplace/community to get involved, and invite sponsors/prize donations.
Make it safe & successful
Follow our easy event guidelines (raffles, collections, permits if needed). Jade will help with any questions.
Bank the funds & celebrate the impact
Send donations using the instructions we provide, and we’ll update you on the wish(es) you’ve helped to fund. We’ll also share a thank-you graphic for you to post.
