RunCancerRun – 15 Marathons in 15 Days

In July 2025, two extraordinary young men, Milo Young and Gabriel Maddison, completed an incredible challenge for Purple Heart Wishes: running the full length of England—630 km from Berwick-upon-Tweed to Brighton—in just 15 days. That’s 15 marathons in 15 days.
Why They Ran
- For Milo, the challenge was deeply personal. He lost his mum, Natalie, to colon cancer in December 2024. “Her loss is a pain that stays with me every day,” he shared. Her strength and love inspired him to take on this monumental effort.
- For Gabriel, the run was in memory of his grandfather and uncle, both of whom he lost to cancer. Their resilience shaped his life, and this challenge was his way of carrying their memory forward.
Together, they chose Purple Heart Wishes because of our mission: granting heartfelt wishes to adults aged 18–55 with terminal illnesses.

The Impact
- Milo and Gabriel raised over £11,000—an extraordinary contribution that will help us grant more unforgettable wishes.
- Their run was unsupported, meaning they carried their own gear, navigated tough terrain, and battled through incredible fatigue—showing pure grit and determination.
Why Their Story Matters
The journey was more than a physical feat—it was a tribute, a statement of hope, and a celebration of love that inspired everyone who followed along. Their strength, courage, and compassion captured the very heart of what Purple Heart Wishes stands for: creating meaningful moments in the hardest of times.
💜 A huge thank you to Milo and Gabriel for turning grief into purpose, and for helping us bring joy and comfort to others facing terminal illness.
